Find out how rhinoplasty by Dr. Berbari can help you...

What Can Rhinoplasty Correct?

Rhinoplasty is designed to address many imperfections that affect the appearance of the nose, including:

Issues with the Bridge

A crooked bridge can disrupt the balance of your facial features. A bump on the nasal bridge can affect your profile. Both of these issues can be corrected during rhinoplasty.

Issues with the Tip

The angle and shape of the tip of the nose have a greater impact on your looks than you may realize. Dr. Berbari can treat drooping nasal tips as well as upturned nasal tips.

Issues with the Nostrils

Nostrils that are perpetually flared, too small, or uneven will disrupt the shape of the nose. Dr. Berbari can make adjustments to the nostrils for a more ideal shape.

Rhinoplasty Benefits

Patients who undergo a nose job by Dr. Patricia Berbari at her Gatineau plastic surgery centre can experience:

A Better Proportioned Nose

Correcting flaws that affect the bridge, tip, and nostrils can improve the overall appearance of the nose. Even a subtle change to the nose can make a powerful enhancement.

Improved Facial Aesthetics

A rhinoplasty procedure can give your entire face a makeover. Adjusting the size and shape of the nose can add prominence to your chin and make your other facial features more striking.

Greater Self-Confidence

Rhinoplasty can help if you feel self-conscious about the way your nose looks. Dr. Berbari can discuss your concerns and develop a custom treatment plan that helps you meet your cosmetic goals and feel more assured about your physical appearance.

Open Rhinoplasty and Closed Rhinoplasty: Two Approaches to Nasal Surgery

There are two methods of performing nose surgery: open rhinoplasty and closed rhinoplasty. Dr. Berbari will determine the ideal method for your needs during the consultation process:

Open Rhinoplasty

During an open rhinoplasty, an incision is made along the columella, which separates the nostrils, for greater access to the structures of the nose. Due to Dr. Berbari's advanced techniques, scarring fades significantly and is virtually unnoticeable after the healing period.

Closed Rhinoplasty

During a closed rhinoplasty, all of the incisions are made within the nostrils. This rhinoplasty technique will keep all surgical scars completely hidden from view. Whenever possible, this is the technique Dr. Berbari will use to give you the nasal refinements you want.

What to Expect During the Rhinoplasty Procedure

The rhinoplasty procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, meaning you will return home to heal following surgery. Below is a timeline for the surgical treatment process:

The Consultation

During the initial consultation with the surgeon, she will discuss your cosmetic goals and review your medical history. She will develop a treatment plan and answer all of your questions about surgery.

Anesthesia and Sedation

During the actual surgical procedure, local anesthetic is administered to eliminate pain around the nose and face. The patient will also be sedated in order to prevent anxiety and discomfort.

The Initial Incisions

Your plastic surgeon will carefully create incisions that provide access to the structures of the nose that you wish to alter.

Adjusting Nasal Structure

After creating the incisions, Dr. Berbari makes adjustments to the various structures of the nose. She will work carefully in order to ensure natural-looking rhinoplasty outcomes.

Sutures and Completion

Sutures are placed to aid healing. A splint is also used to help the nose maintain its new shape during recovery. Afterward, patients will be able to return home, assisted by a family member or a loved one.
