We missed you! As of June 1 2020, we will be reopening the doors of the CCCPB surgical center and the MedicSPA.

Dr. Berbari and her team prioritize patient and staff safety. Please familiarize yourself with these new procedures:

Services will gradually resume from June 1 2020, respecting the social distancing guidelines issued by Public Health.

Long-term follow-ups will resume as of June 22 2020 and will be carried out by telemedicine. Appointments will be given after July 6 2020 as needed.

We have extended the time slots (fewer appointments per day) to give our employees time to disinfect the rooms between each patient.

According to the above policies and dates, the contactless payment method will be favoured when making an appointment. Our staff will take your credit card number and the receipt will be emailed to you.

You will then be invited to answer a COVID-19 questionnaire when booking the appointment (whether it is by email or by phone).

N.B. follow-up appointments: we will contact you for follow-ups, as visits are now restricted to avoid contamination.

Please show up on time out of respect for other patients.

Once you arrive in the clinic parking lot, please announce your arrival by phone (819-243-7667).

A member of our team will welcome you in the doorway for an evaluation (questionnaire, temperature, mask, hydro alcoholic gel).

N.B .: Only patients will have access to the clinic, anyone else must remain in the parking lot.

You will be taken directly to the treatment room.

We opened door A for the aesthetic care (laser, radiofrequency, PRP etc.) of the MedicSPA and door B for surgery appointments and injections.

After the appointment, you will be accompanied to the exit by a member of the team.

An explanatory video will be available on social media (@medicspa.gatineau on FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM) and the website (drpatriciaberbari.com) on May 29 2020, to summarize these new procedures.

When interacting with our staff, understand that they have received strict directives, we ask you to respect them for your safety.

Breast Lift Incision Techniques: Restoring Perkiness to the Bustline By Patricia Berbari on October 30, 2014

A woman's breasts and cleavageWhen patients come to visit Dr. Patricia Berbari in Gatineau, they will receive exceptional care, with great attention given to their needs. We always strive to custom-tailor each procedure to the needs of the patient, which is especially important for age-defying and enhancing surgeries such as breast lift (mastopexy), which can leave you looking years and years younger.

Breast lift surgery is a procedure intended to reduce the amount of drooping and sagging that affects the breasts. The surgery will involve the removal of loose skin and revision of glandular tissue in order to achieve optimal results.

Traditional Breast Lift Surgery

A traditional breast lift involves three incisions:

  • One circular incision around the areola
  • One incision along the crease where the breast meet the chest
  • One vertical incision that connects these two

You'll note that these incisions form a kind of anchor shape. Through the incisions, excess skin can be removed and underlying structures in the breast revised as needed.

All other kinds of breast lift surgery are variations on this traditional set of incisions.

Lollipop Incision Breast Lift Surgery

The lollipop incision involves two incisions:

  • One circular incision around the areola
  • One vertical incision that extends from the bottom of the circular incision down to the area where the breast and chest meet

You'll note that these incisions form a lollipop shape, hence the name.

This is an ideal incision method for when a patient needs a breast lift, but the sagging of the breasts is not as substantial to necessitate a traditional surgery.

Doughnut Incision Breast Lift Surgery

The doughnut incision breast lift incision involves just one incision made around the areola. This kind of incision is ideal for patients who need only a very minor amount of lifting.

In some cases, the incision needs only to be made around part of the areola. The exact size of the incision depends on the needs of the patient.

Combined Breast Lift and Augmentation

In some cases, the breast lift surgery may be combined with breast augmentation surgery, meaning that a breast implant is placed as part of the lift procedure. When this is done, the perkiness of the breasts as well as breast size are revised.

The exact kind of incision used for the combined breast lift and augmentation can vary based on the implant size and the lifting needs.

Which breast lift option is right for me?

During a consultation at our practice, we will be sure to discuss your aesthetic goals while also assessing the condition of your breasts. This will allow us to fully tailor the surgery to your needs. We will also be able to go over all of the risks and benefits of the procedure so that you can make the best and most well-informed decisions with regard to your cosmetic surgery options.
